For Individuals, Families & Single-Family Offices

Invest for the life you lead—and the generations ahead.

An understandable approach, carried out with expertise and discipline, for your portfolio or a specific allocation alongside your other advisors.

Core approach

Straightforward principles. Disciplined implementation.

Start with what the money is for and when it may be needed. Build appropriate liquidity for nearer-term obligations and invest patient capital with its longer horizon in mind. Keep ownership understandable, pay attention to costs and taxes, and maintain the portfolio with discipline over time.

  1. Give time a role

Distinguish near-term needs from capital intended for longer-term growth and future generations.

  2. Support compounding

Seek to limit unnecessary costs, tax realization, and interruptions to a considered long-term plan.

  3. Understand what you own

Make the purpose of each allocation and the nature of its risks clear.

  4. Maintain the plan

Combine human investment judgment with technology that supports cash allocation, portfolio monitoring, and implementation.

Portfolio implementation

Different roles. One coordinated view.

Fixed income and cash can support liquidity, income, and other defined needs. Passive equity exposure can serve long-term growth objectives, using low-cost funds or direct indexing as appropriate. For suitable taxable accounts, tax-loss harvesting is another implementation tool. The mix reflects your circumstances and preferences; it is not a standard allocation prescribed for every family.

Education and continuity

Help the next generation understand the responsibility.

We work with family members to explain what they own, how the approach works, and why discipline matters. We also encourage older generations to pass along the experience, values, and perspective that help younger generations become thoughtful stewards.

Wealth serves a purpose: supporting meaningful lives, family priorities, and generosity. An understandable approach helps families carry those intentions forward.

Coordination

Investment decisions within the larger picture.

We work with your estate attorney, accountant, and other advisors so investment management reflects the wider context. When needed, we can suggest professionals to help with other aspects of your affairs.
